This month's Service Search column will be taking an in-depth look atthe new highway maintenance service frequency allocations currently beinglicensed by the Federal Communications Commission. Scanner listeners shouldbe listening for newly allocated splinter channels (VHF 7.5 kHz/UHF 6.25kHz) to become active in their areas.
With the increased inclement winter weather we are now experiencing,these highway maintenance allocations can be exciting frequencies to monitorroad construction/snow removal operations.
